Cookie Usage Policy

The TopNetwork website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance the user experience of online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, how they are used by TopNetwork, and how to manage them.

Definitions

Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be reused during the same website visit (session cookies) or later, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on the user’s preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and service usage.

In the remainder of this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply as “cookies.”

Types di cookie

Based on their characteristics and usage, cookies can be categorized as follows:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the TopNetwork website and are used to manage login and access to the site’s restricted features. Their duration is strictly limited to the work session.

  • Analytics and performance cookies: These cookies are used to collect and analyze website traffic and usage anonymously. While they do not identify the user, they allow, for example, the detection of repeated visits from the same user at different times. They also help monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. Disabling these cookies does not result in any loss of functionality.

  • Profiling cookies: These are persistent cookies used to identify user preferences (both anonymously and non-anonymously) and enhance their browsing experience. The TopNetwork website does not use this type of cookie.

In the remainder of this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply as “cookies.”

Types di cookie

When visiting a website, it is possible to receive cookies both from the visited site (“first-party cookies”) and from sites managed by other organizations (“third-party cookies”). A notable example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page that are directly generated by the mentioned sites and integrated into the hosting website. The most common use of social plugins is to enable content sharing on social networks.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of the information collected by “third parties” is regulated by their respective policies, which users are encouraged to refer to. For greater transparency and convenience, below are the web addresses of the different privacy policies and cookie management settings:

Google Analytics

The TopNetwork website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). These are also third-party cookies, collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the hosting website (performance cookies).

Google Analytics uses “cookies” to anonymously collect and analyze information about the usage behavior of the TopNetwork website (including the user’s IP address). This information is gathered by Google Analytics and processed to generate reports for TopNetwork operators regarding activities on the website. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google’s analytics tool to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google, nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a user’s identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where required by law or when such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

Users can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable Google Analytics, please visit the following link:

Durations of cookie

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” the closure of the browser and are available for future visits by the user.

These cookies are called persistent cookies, and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration date is defined, while in others, the duration is unlimited. TopNetwork does not use persistent cookies.

However, while browsing the TopNetwork website, users may interact with third-party sites that can create or modify persistent and profiling cookies.

Cookie management

Users can choose whether to accept or reject cookies by adjusting their browser settings.

Warning: Completely or partially disabling technical cookies may affect the functionality of the website reserved for registered users. However, public content remains accessible even with cookies completely disabled.

Disabling third-party cookies does not affect website navigation in any way.

Settings can be configured specifically for different websites and web applications. Additionally, most browsers allow users to define different settings for first-party cookies and third-party cookies.

For example, in Firefox, users can access the control panel via Tools → Options → Privacy, where they can decide whether to accept different types of cookies and remove them if necessary.

Here are some links for managing cookies in different browsers:
