New possibilities arise from collaboration

Co-funded Projects

For over ten years, we have participated in research projects co-funded by European, national, and regional public bodies, collaborating with universities, research centers, and industrial partners.

For us, these projects are more than just funding: they are opportunities to experiment with technologies, engage with diverse expertise, and bring new visions into the company that we would otherwise struggle to develop alone.

Each project stems from joint efforts between our sales departments and research teams and grows through ongoing dialogue with scientific and industrial partners. This approach allows us to transform ideas into concrete results and keep our research connected to the market and our customers’ realities.

The co-financed projects are not just technological innovation: they are the path through which we explore new possibilities, strengthen our skills and build the future together with those who believe in research as a driver of change.

PRISM-E

PRISM-E

PRISM-E is a research and development project aimed at creating an intelligent platform for monitoring, forecasting, and managing environmental risks through the integration of satellite observation, drone surveys, advanced sensors, and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

The solution adopts an innovative two-pronged approach: continuous monitoring of the territory via satellite data allows for the timely identification of potentially critical areas, while the use of drones equipped with high-resolution sensors allows for targeted inspections and detailed information collection. The integration of these technologies with AI and Digital Shadow models enables more effective and predictive management of events such as fires, floods, and hydrogeological instability.

The Municipality of Cave is the project’s case study, where the platform will be tested and validated in a real-world context, allowing for the effectiveness of the developed technologies and their contribution to supporting decision-making for the prevention and management of environmental emergencies.

TopNetwork is participating in the project by making available its expertise in industrial research and experimental development, with particular reference to Artificial Intelligence, geospatial data processing, complex systems integration and the development of innovative digital platforms, in synergy with ACGroup S.r.l., the National Research Council (CNR) and the Guglielmo Marconi University (USGM), to contribute to the creation of an advanced technological solution to support territorial resilience.

We are Founding Partner of the Samothrace HUB, led by theUniversity of Catania as Main Proponent (PROPOSER) and composed of 25 members including public entities (Universities and Research Centers) and private economic operators (mostly IT companies).

All activities deal with micro and nano technologies, microelectronics, materials, microsystems and devices. The methodologies and applications are based on the following six major areas: energy, health, smart mobility, environment, cultural heritage and smart agriculture. Samothrace’s goal is to have an impact far beyond the industrial sector.

Research activities benefit from modern Artificial Intelligence technologies, such as Deep Learning, Augmented Analytics, Self-Supervised Learning, Transfer Learning, Computer Vision). We are to use nanotechnologies integrated with additional sources of information in order to generate data. Those data are processed across the entire Data Value Chain. The access and processing of raw data generates new findings to support research and to create innovative territorial services.
